Naughty Ned

by admin on 28 November, 2008

It stinks.

I was all geared up this week to resume a slightly less sporadic posting schedule. I’m laughing my ass off while writing this because only a couple of weeks ago I was claiming that I wasn’t posting because my internet connection was dodgy. I say ‘claiming’, because several of you were a little doubtful. Humph! AND Tsk!

So this week my site has been super slow to load and that’s because of a problem with a server at the host’s end of things. This little swine of a server called ‘Ned’ just won’t play ball anymore, so the engineers are going to migrate my stuff (technical speak) to another server sometime next week.

I have no problem with what the hosting service is doing. They’re nice people and they’ve compensated me for the aggravation.

Unfortunately though, all 1000+ comments disappeared yesterday and I can only assume that Ned has eaten them because he wasn’t invited to Thanksgiving dinner. Well Boo Hooo Ned, and if I catch hold of your scrawny little microchips I’m going to wring them dry of silicon.

Spit the comments out Ned before I open up a can of whoop ass on your sorry circuit boards!

Hopefully Ned will understand that I’m only joking with him and release the comments soon enough.

In the meantime I just wanted you to know that I’m not dead…. and that comments aren’t working. :D

For those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday… I hope you enjoy the turkey sandwiches today!

If you really want to talk to me and have a laugh at my expense you can see me bare chested over at Blog To Fit, the exciting online fitness community being hosted by Dave, Tara and my good self.

Do Something Different

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” Picture: veyselkurucu I remember reading that quote in one of the numerous self-help books I’ve thrown my eyes across over the years. At the time I committed that line of text to the screen, I couldn’t remember who’s quote it was but [...]

Teaching My Children About Health, Fitness and Diet

Setting a good example to my children and being a positive role model were foremost in my mind when I started this blog. The inspiration for Teach My Children Well originally came from a desire to get fit, lean and strong after one of my littlies commented on my “Fat Belly”. Children say what they [...]

Pushing My Boundaries And Pushing My Luck

There’s no hiding it. For quite a few months I’ve been pushing my boundaries and possibly my luck. Photo: shadow–angel Interestingly and surprisingly my boundaries continue to expand and so does my luck. The only thing that seems to diminish is time. But as I continue to make progress both in life and online I [...]

Why Cleaning Your Toilet Could Be Bad For Your Children’s Health

In a very mix-and-match post on Tuesday I mentioned that I’d managed to put up a few more stair gates around the house to prevent my littlest girl having free access to the entire space. Well, now I wish I’d installed just one more gate. You see my little darling waited till my back was [...]

Internet connection problems – Part 2

Following on from the apparent success of Internet connection problems, I bring you Part 2 of this open ended series in which I make more excuses for not writing a proper post like: We’ve had some prolonged power outages I left my laptop in my other pants, and, The dog ate my laptop In future [...]

Internet connection problems

Internet connection problems Sorry, but I’m having real problems getting online today. The window of opportunity doesn’t last too long, so I’m not going to post what I had scheduled for today, simply because I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to respond. I’ll post again once the connection has stabilised. My apologies, Dave.
