Writer Dad
You see that’s the thing. You’re a man about it. You donlt whinge and whine like I’ve been doing! :D

Robert
3 is such a lovely age for children isn’t it. Their little personalities really start to shine though! :D

Barbara
Of course. You’re right. My internet woes are just an unwelcome distraction :D

Davina
It was a lovely moment. I’d actually slowed down long enough to enjoy it. I need to do that more. :D

Adrenalynn
I’m the same. Sometimes we’re in such a rush to get places and when we get there I often wonder why we needed to rush. :D

Mark
Thank you for taking the time to drop a line here. It’s appreciated. I remain conscious that these little moments won’t last forever, but as you say, somehow the moments stay with us. :D

Patricia
Teasing children is mandatory. I’m glad I’m not the only one who does it. :D

Mark
Only 13? Get your dodgy knees strapped up and get with the shoulder rides. Hehehe. I suppose the point is, there comes a time when our children don’t need the same sort of close physical contact with their parents. A school trip to Hiroshima sounds wonderful, I’m envious. :D

Dave, I remember how mine would sit high on my shoulders, queen of the world, as we walked back from the train station. That somehow ceased about 5 years ago as her weight, my dodgy knee and a putting away of childish things took us, unnoticed it seems, into the tweenie stage.

And now she's 13 and away on a school trip to Hiroshima. They were in the peace park today and saw the preserved ground-zero building, listened to an A-bomb survivor's live story and presented the 1000 paper cranes as a peace /remembrance gesture.

So much growing up, so fast. Live every minute of it!

Hi all, thanks for the comments. I'm still playing catch up after trying to fix the slow loading issues. I need to find a host who provides the back end support - as it were - to save me the headache of learning to fix things myself. I wouldn't mind if I had the time, but I don't *Boo Hoo" :D

Oh, what a great moment!
I've started stopping myself lately whenever I'm about to start being harsh with my almost 3 year old for doing something completely adorable and cute when he really should be getting ready to go out. So what if we're 5 minutes late? It was my fault anyway for not getting us started earlier. And I always kick myself later if I've gotten all angry instead of just taking the time to smile and enjoy him being a kid.
He's also started giving me a BIG hug if I've gotten angry at him for not coming already the fourth time I asked. I melt completely... Life's too short not to cherish these moments.

You need to get her to do that again (would your eye sockets be able to handle it?), and have a picture taken. That sounds so cute!

Hi Dave - How can you top that? Who cares about the behind the scenes stuff. You've got a daughter to watch grow up. The other, it'll work itself out.

I know what you mean. Little ones smile & laugh almost continuously. It's infectious. You have to work really hard to be depressed around them. My littlest one was 3 6 months ago. I'm treasuring every minute of her happy smiling stage.

Don't feel bad. WD moved servers. I too had a rough start and am on my third server now. It's never been zippier though.

Enjoy the final moments being a personal playground. Mia's on the cusp of being too big. Well, she really is too big, but she doesn't realize it and can't feel the pain she's inflicting.

Where do I queue?

Seriously though, you'll be fine as long as you don't try to carry anyone heavier than your children. If hubby asks, tell him to bugger off!

As for me, I'm more of a Donkey or a Jackass. :D

When my children are grumpy or squabbling or unreasonable there is one phrase I can utter that will have them leaping around the house like sparkling jumping beans.
And yes, it involved mummy becoming their own personal playground.
The phrase? Who wants to ride the mummy horse.
I tell you, it bloody kills my knees and my back, but boy do we have fun. Except for the bit where they try to steer horsey up the stairs. Not so good.

Yeah, there's often more food on the floor than in the fridge. Keeps the dog happy though. :)

Thanks fot the offer of help. I've got one more thing to try and when that fails, I'll give you a shout. :D

Oh my god, that is picture is so cute!

My son is also at erasing grumpiness...even when he does make my kitchen look like the fridge threw up.

Hey, Dave, listen...if you need any help with your blog - just give me a shout. I know a bit about the inner-workings of WordPress.
